Ethan Thomas
Dec 9, 2023 / 03:55
A reputation throughout Ethan’s teen years as an up-and-coming folk musician and songwriter earned him regular bookings at prestigious festivals throughout the country, with main stage appearances becoming increasingly frequent. He picked up a number of awards such as Fylde Folk Festival’s prestigious Tallyman Trophy (previous winners include Kate Rusby and Tim Van Eyken) and before the age of fourteen had two albums to his name.
After a sudden disappearance off the festival circuit and even his local music scene, Ethan’s name as an artist fell by the wayside. It wasn’t until mid-2017 that Ethan came out of hiding. Armed with a fresh collection of songs, penned from the dark place he’d been lurking, Ethan hit the local pubs and towns around the Lake District, showcasing himself to audiences with a more aggressive guitar style, edgy stage persona, and a new drive for life as a musician. His self-penned songs are deep, personal, and at points heartbreaking, whilst his renditions of old Chicago blues classics, show off his ability on the fretboard.
